Hello all. I'm fairly new to the forum, so I thought I'd better introduce myself to those who don't already know me. I'm also known under the moniker 'Andy Capp', as well as my real name, which isn't Charlie Chalk!

I've been a fanatical reggae singles buyer since early 1970. I grew up avidly awaiting each week's new batch of Trojan releases. I do collect all other genres, but reggae probably accounts for about 80% of the total of my collection.

I've always been a huge fan of the Ethiopians, Jackie Brown, the Melodians, Horace Andy, Cornel Campbell, Johnny Clarke and many others. My main aim in life is to have complete runs of all Trojan labels (a long way still to go!).

I've sold reggae 7" by mailorder since 1977, when I believe I was one of the first people to do so. I no longer do mailorder, but have bought and sold reggae on eBay for about 5 years now. I'm a collector, not a dealer; I only sell stuff to help me buy even more!

I've maintained my own database of UK reggae labels (excluding Trojan & Pama), which Marc G (Bosssounds). helped update with me for a couple of years or so, a few years back. I only really keep it for my own purposes, but I'm always willing to help if anyone needs it.

Hopefully, I've got something to add to the forum, and I'll be around on here for some time.

Andy Very Happy

Welcome to the forum, Andy and thanks for the bio Cool

Better not let Jah Reel know you've "only" been collecting since the early 70s, as that'd make you a Johnny-come-lately in his eyes Mr. Green

...did I mention that over at Pama (I remember thinking about it and meaning to)?

No you didn't mention it Joe. I started vey young - I have been collecting records since about 1965/6, but I didn't really know what reggae was 'til about 1970 - I was then hooked. The rest is history.

Hi (again) Andy.... I've bought a few tunes from you over the years on eBay, and hope to continue to do so.... Wink

I hope you enjoy it here. Although a few of the names are the same here as at Pama, it's quite different (in a good way).. Cool

I said it was sunny, I didn't say it wasn't "bloody freezing"!
