My guess:

1. D (Love Is Overdue)
2. C (Don't Let Me Suffer)
3. B (Diplomatic Fool)

According to the clue Zappatoo gave us there have been 3 answers (CGB, DAC, GCD) that include 2 of the above tracks 1 of which in the right place.

Am I right? Very Happy

That's true, Alcibiades - about the 3 answers that had 2 correct choices with 1 in the right place - the logic is beginning to work Wink - but that doesn't necessarily mean they were those selections - but it might.

I'll elaborate this evening Wink

Not sure what that means Zap? Are you saying that last guess could be right or wrong, but you're going to keep Alcibiades and the rest of us in suspense for a while? Or is it definitely not right?

Either way, I'll nip in with my second go right now:

1. G

2. D

3. A

I realise that leaves me only one guess left, and that I have to wait until someone else has had another go first. But unless your clue disproves it, I've already decided what I'm going for next if I get a chance!

Thanks for your good efforts so far...no one's nailed it yet Smile

This is a straight up small competition - I have this unopened CD in front of me right now Wink ...while listening to my other copy...Smile

The 11 guesses so far have been:
Who / 1st. / 2nd. / 3rd.
skadad.....................E / C / A
Dubac(1)..................C / G / B
RasRyan(1)...............D / A / C
Alhazred(1)...............F / D / A
Ekki.........................G / C / D
RasRyan(2)..............G / A / D
Baldhead Selector.....E / A / F
Shinyboots ...............A / E / D
Alhazred(2)..............D / G / A
Alcibiades.................D / C / B
Dubac(2)..................G / D / A

So it's time for some more clues...
Idea Every single guess has contained at least 1 of the right tunes (that doesn't mean that it's in the right place though)
Idea The first position has been guessed correctly more than once
Idea ...so has the second position...
Idea The third position has been guessed correctly only once

That should narrow it down a bit Wink

I may not be online until late in the day tomorrow (Sat. 12th.) to check things, so please be patient Smile

Alhazred, Dubby and RasRyan - choose your 3rd. guess wisely Wink

My second guess would be:

1. E (Mr. Cop)
2. D (Love Is Overdue)
3. C (Don't Let Me Suffer)

It seems the first clue Zap gave us was a bit misleading... Rolling Eyes

Being forced to go for something that hasn't already been taken (whilst Zap has his 40,000 winks until tomorrow):

1. G

2. A

3. C

And that's me finished - 3 guesses only

Is the correct answer Smile Smile Cool

Well done, Alcibiades Smile ...and thanks to everyone who showed an interest and had a go (or two)

Mr. Cop - I could listen to this all night - the music doesn't intrude into the singing too much, the rhythm is fairly sparse - great stuff!
Love Is Overdue - the tune that really sold me on Gregory Isaacs (though I already had several singles, he was just a "run of the mill" singer to me until this one.
Don't Let Me Suffer - I never got this until some years later, but I love that early reggae feel to it!

Alcibiades - please e-mail or PM me with your address and I'll post this CD early next week Wink

BTW Dubby, the reason I got on here this early (for a Saturday) is not just cos I have to go out for a few hours, but also that I only got about 17,276 winks last night - didn't sleep at all well!

Must have been worrying about this quiz Shocked

Thanks again, one and all Smile

Wow! Cheers Mr. Tiger! Check your e-mail!

After the last clues you gave us it seemed that the correct answer was either d-c-f (sid's answer) or e-d-c. It helped a bit when I found this on the forum archive (Jan 05 2004):

Unsurprisingly, that post from more than a year ago had slipped from my mind Confused , Alcibiades

But I loved "Mr. Cop" then and still do Wink
