|
|
Thanks to the generosity of "those upstairs" at Trojan / Sanctuary, for which I am very appreciative, I have 3 CDs to give away (separately) - all are brand new August releases and I can tell you that all are excellent (though you know my thoughts on DOANE )
1. Dawning Of A New Era
2. Lynn Tait Anthology
3. Trojan Mod Reggae Vol. 2 Box Set
This topic is for winning "DAWNING OF A NEW ERA"
Two questions (these questions are the same for each album )
1. How many different artist or artist combinations feature on this album?
2. How many different producer or producer combinations feature on this album?
Tip - John Fred & his Band and John Fred & his Orchestra are considered to be 2 separate artists. Also, an artists combination of Lee Perry & Scientist is considered a different artist to just Lee Perry (or Scientist), or say Lee Perry & Dave Barker.
As usual, the first 5 tries are free, then 3 non-consecutive guesses per forum member.
I'd also add that while you can have 3 tries in each of these 3 giveaways, if you are fortunate enough to win 1 of the prizes, you may not win a second (or donate it elsewhere if you do!), though you may still guess - if you guess correctly, then I'll mention it and wait for someone (who hasn't won one of these 3) to put the same guess up
Good luck and enjoy...I'll be watching out _________________ Play it nice and cool, son. Nice and cool! You know what I mean.

...and another thing - the answer for both should be as credited in the sleeve notes, whether these are right or wrong, viz "Soul Food" in the sleeve notes for the Lynn Tait anthology is is credited as being produced by Clancy Eccles - though other information I've had always pointed to Lynford Anderson
Also, I count only the main artist, so where two tracks say:
a) LYNN TAIT & THE JETS featuring Cool Sticky
b) LYNN TAIT & THE JETS featuring Lee Perry ...these are considered to be just the one artist.
LYNN TAIT WITH TOMMY MCCOOK can be counted as a separate artist combination _________________ Play it nice and cool, son. Nice and cool! You know what I mean.

You've nailed it ReggaeFire - well deduced
...so that one didn't last long - sorry you didn't quite hit it Tim - feel free to have a crack at the others if you want.
I'll post up the different artists and producers tomorrow morning (Tuesday) when I can get hold of the data.
So if you let me have your name and address details off-board, ReggaeFire, I'll get this in the post to you - although you now cannot win either the Lynn Tait or the Mod Reggae give aways, feel free to try for the Eighties Box Set in another thread _________________ Play it nice and cool, son. All - I cocked up - I had noted "Mix It Up" as a Derrick Harriott production, when of course it was a J.J. Johnson thing (all my other "Mix It Up" database entries show it as J.J. ). Hence Tim P was correct - there are indeed 21 different producers for the 42 different tracks. Notwithstanding that there may be errors in the sleeve notes, my apologies for doubting your calculations Tim...
