Apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum! (please correct if so). Each month I have an all vinyl reggae show on one of my local radio stations and each 2 hr session gets posted on Mixcloud for folks to listen back to.

April '17 with focus on Tommy McCook plus tracks from Classic Album of the Month - Horace Andy's In the Light/In The Light Dub

Just got to the Roots portion.....Who ever's doing the voice-over, has been doing a wonderful job, narrating. I love the format, too. 20 minute blocks, giving you a glimpse of what each sub-genre of Reggae, has to offer, before the DJ/narrator, pops in, offering information, or a segue-way, into the next block.

I think it gives the listener time, to digest things, without overloading them....A shame I've missed past shows! Won't happen anymore, if I can help it! Great stuff, Dan! Cool

Just finished.....By and large, I liked what I heard....A few didn't click, but still, a very enjoyable 120 minutes. Loved that banter about the "Blackheart Man" LP.....My only grouse would be, there's not a set list, to identify some of the artists, one may not be familiar with, or marginally, at best.....Otherwise, I'm looking forward to future installments! Ta! Smile

In any show, there'll always be a few tunes that don't "click" - that's the beauty of having different preferences to the next bloke.

Thanks for the feedback guys - much appreciated and all taken on board.

It's myself narrating, and there's myself and a mate who select the records. The format of 20 min segments with regular features in between started at the beginning of this year (before that it was a straight 120 minutes of music) and we're open to evolution and seeing how the show develops.

A set list is something we've thought about, but we DJ on the live circuit a fair bit & are reluctant to give away some of our rarer secret weapons (harking back to the old 60's sound system days of scratching off the names of artists/song titles) !! It's something we're trying to find a solution to as we've been asked a few times for a set list...

As you've probably guessed it's a monthly show (1st Tuesday) so I'll keep posting the latest shows on here for you all until you've had enough.

Thanks again! Very Happy

Leave it to listeners to Shazam (although I think that only gets tracks that have been digitised!) or some other app to get the name of a tune.
