Musical Youth on BBC4 singing `I'm Sixteen' but I can't remember the female vocalist who joined them on this song. I think it was their final hit. Cool

Pressure Drop on Corrie last Monday night. Toots actually name checked in the script as well. Perhaps that's why he didn't show at Glastonbury 😉

Couldn't get any stations but Radio Two in the car today, so it came as a surprise to hear three reggae related question on a pop quiz.
1) They played Merlene Webber's version of `Stand By Your Man' and asked who originally had a hit with it.
2) They played the Trojan version of `Love Of The Common People' and asked who sang it?
3) They played Crispian St Peters `Pied Piper' and asked which Jamaican duo had thier only chart hit with it.
So I got nine points - the caller didn't Shocked

Nice going, Pete!

Frustrating when the caller gets these simple (to us) questions wrong.

2-3 months back on talk Sport they were doing the usual sports/music related quiz on a Sunday morning...a sporting question is asked and 3 years are offered as the answer (usually, the 3 years are each only a year or two apart).

To help, a piece of music is played from the correct year (they also have to guess the artist)

One time, the music was FUNKY KINGSTON - Mick Quinn (fat ex-footballer) picked the wrong year and couldn't guess the artist. When told it was the Maytals, "Nope. Never heard of them" was his very dismissive reply, as the Maytals didn't exist.

Confused

Well at least I can honestly say never heard of the ex-football player, and while Toots is known globally I'm sure the fat guy is a nonentity outside of his hometown. Wink
