Hiya, I'm a musician from the Central Coast of CA who specializes in 60s Jamaican ska, rocksteady, reggae styles of music, among other genres such as surf rock and celtic rock/punk, rockabilly, erc. I've been releasing some of my own original 60 Jamaican style tunes I written and self-recorded over the years that I thought many on here would enjoy.

You can preview, purchase, and download my full releases here:

https://potbellymackraken.bandcamp.com/

You can listen to previews of new tunes I'm working on via:

Hope you like what you hear! I strive to maintain as much authenticity to the 60s Jamaican sound as I am able to do while being myself at the same time, and try really hard to provide great quality and enjoyable, catchy songs. Take a look/listen and share with your friends! I appreciate the support as a poor, struggling musician!

Cheers,
-Potbelly MacKraken

Thanks for the Welcome! I don't know Jason personally, but I know of him, and we have facebook connections, namely mutual facebook friends. Tho, I've seen the Aggros play many a time, so I've seen him in action. I've sent him a facebook friend request tho, so hopefully might be able to get to know him a little better in the future, since he and I kinda do similar things, self-recording and releasing our own tunes. The Central Coast of California is a good 3-4 hours north of LA area where most of the Ska/Rocksteady/Reggae scene has a presence and where most of those guys are, and I don't get down there often, so my ties to those guys are online mainly.

I'm working on releasing another album of some Ska and Reggae tunes I've been writing over the years, so stay tuned for more posts from me with new music to listen to.

In the near future, I'd like to get some of my stuff put on vinyl to sell since that's a big thing amongst this crowd.

Got a new new preview up of an older early Reggae tune I wrote about 8 years ago or so. I had originally released a more low-fi sounding version on my first album, "Summer Solstice," but was never truly satisfied on the final product, due to the technology I was limited to at the time. So, I decided over the last couple of days to rerecord it using my newer tech I have and adding some piano rhythm in there. I plan on releasing this newer version on my upcoming Ska/Rocksteady/Reggae album featuring original tunes I've written and recorded over the years. Hopefully I'll be able to get that album out in the next month or so; just gotta finish a couple more songs.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!

We like a "nice", organ-led instrumental.

I enjoyed that. Thanks.

However, please can you put such things into the "Have a listen" section, otherwise it might not get noticed, as this area is just for introductions Wink
