The meaning of "many" could be interpreted in several ways...

I can see that for the Ethiopians, but all the others are on CDs by proper labels like Heartbeat, Jamaican Gold, and of course, Trojan.

Like I said most of those CDs are long out of print and I think Cherry Red is doing a respectable job, just a curious marketing technique.

Good observations, Jon. I've thought the same, things, myself. The best I can come up with: They don't know, what they're talking about. Give, or take.

All other routes, I've tried, I'm come to the same conclusion: This isn't new to CD!

And, yes, I have actually, taken the time, to listen to tracks, from the new offerings, and compared them, to what I've owned, for up to a quarter century! I must have OCD, or summat..... Rolling Eyes

Can't call me a liar, though. Mr. Green

The 'legally' bit seems moot. Apparently, Keelyn Beckford was licensing JJ's material - whether legitimately, who knows.

Supposedly, he gained access to it, I think, after Theo passed, who had, gotten hold of it, for one reason, or another. Or something, along those lines. Still, you raise a valid point! Wink

I wonder if 'Many tracks new To CD' may only be from the point of view of the Trojan CD catalogue. But for that, the label Cherry Red/Doctor Bird would have to be considered as an extension of Trojan, which they aren't.

Perhaps. I think a BIG part, is people, simply not knowing/remembering/caring, some of these tracks, have been previously released. Wink

A fantastic read. Succinct. Cool Cool

IIRC, this will be the 3rd release, the "Boss Reggae Dynamic Duo", wrote the liner notes? Smile

Bless you both. Marc helped me, keep my sanity, 20 years ago, with his "Boss Sounds" book. Now, you're doing the same, with these releases. How? You may ask? Well, Barnum & Bailey Circus didn't really go out of business. They just changed their name to "United States of America". Rolling Eyes Wink
