I don't recall hearing this before:

Not too shabby (as Joe would say) IMHO.

Crazy! I just came here to post the very same video too (after I mentioned NO in the 'reggae in unexpected places' thread)

Cool

Yes, New Order - my favourite band - always had a touch of the perverse in their choice of covers.

The 'Vietnam' cover was only ever released on the 'Warchild' comp, and in fact I don't own it which is quite amazing in itself since I have pretty much everything New Order did on CDs (at least up until 1992 anyways).

Personally, I am not too keen on the Keith Hudson cover, recorded btw not in Maida Vale like most John Peel sessions, but at Revolution Studios in Cheadle. Broadcast 01 Jun 1982.

According to Peter Hook 'Turn the Heater On' was Ian Curtis's favourite reggae tune (1).

I quite like New Order - have 4 albums (not played any in ages):
    Technique (1989)
    Republic (1993)
    Get Ready (2001)
Waiting For The Sirens' Call (2005)
I assume this was the first place TURN THE HEATER ON saw the light of day:

Oh Zap, you haven't got their best albums #2 and #3 - 'Power Corruption & Lies' [1983] and 'Low Life' [1985].

Shame.

I can't really express how much 'PCL' means to me - the amount of emotional investment I have put in to listening to that album since I bought it in April 1983 is colossal.
