So I have a copy of Jonny Greenwoood selection to give away (we haven't had one of those for a while, have we?)

Just answer these 4 multiple-choice questions.

As is usual in the rich but shadowy world of JA music, where often, no "fact" is an abolute certainty Confused Confused,

I've resorted to questions whose answers cannot be refuted...as you'll see.

Here we go then - choices are listed alphabetically

1. Which is my personal favourite version of I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU?

A. Marcia Aitken (1977)
B. Alton Ellis (1977 re-recording)
C. Hortense Ellis (1977)
D. Janet Kay & ALton Ellis (1976)
E. Sean Paul (2003)

2. Which was the first Upsetters L.P. I ever bought?

A. Clint Eastwood (Pama PSP1014 - 1970)
B. Many Moods of the Upsetters (Pama Economy ECO24 - 1969)
C. Return of Django (Trojan TRL019 - 1969)
D. Scratch - The Upsetter Again (Trojan TTL28 - 1970)
E. Upsetter, The (Trojan TTL13 - 1969)

3. How many times does Desmond Dekker & the Aces' 007 (SHANTY TOWN) currently appear in my collection?

A. 19
B. 20
C. 21
D. 22

4. And my favourite Gregory Isaacs song is...(clue, it's the same is it ever was Wink)

A. Don't Let Me Suffer (1969)
B. Love Is Overdue (1974)
C. Mr. Cop (1976)
D. Night Nurse (1982)

Answers should be in the style of Z, R, T, H - I'll respond in "Mastermind" fashion, which I'll explain when I've done it Wink

As usual, up to 3 tries per forum member (but not in the same post and not 3 sequential posts - if there are 2 or 3 consecutive posts by the same forum member, I'll ignore the 2nd and 3rd posts - these can be re-submitted after at least one other person has had a guess)

Again as usual, the first 5 goes are "freebies", though not two consecutive guesses by the same person please.

Clues will be provided as necessary Confused

Away you go! Cool Cool

It's no accident that this release came 'Bottom Of The Pops' according to your recent poll, you can't even give it away!

Where are the Mick Sleeper, Dave Hendley &c. collections?

Come on Trojan, stop messing around and give the people who know what they are on about a chance.

Rebel Music volume 2 is due this or next month (until the <upcoming> section returns, I don't know and though I was told, I've been to sleep since then and have forgottenn)

Although since the release of volume 1 all those years ago, so much more has become available again, the tracklisting remains interesting and of high quality - I've given my copy a couple of good spins Cool.

Regarding the Jonny G release - my main disappointment is not with the quality of the tracks - there aren't any obvious duds, plus there are several extended versions - it's with the selection. I already had every track, with a number having appeared on reasonably recent other Trojan releases.

Early days on the poll, IP - though I suspect it won't win! Confused Very Happy

Thanks for kicking this off, kirkatron Smile

The "Mastermind" answer is 3 hits, 2 sinks.

In other words, 3 of the answer letters are correct and 2 are in the right place Wink

Kirkatron - 2 hits, 1 sink.

Punk Skins - you nailed it!

B. Alton Ellis (1977 re-recording) - the first vinyl copy I got.
E. Upsetter, The (Trojan TTL13 - 1969) - in about November 1969 - I had loads of trouble with this skipping, but the record shop wouldn't exchange it, claiming it must be my stylus - it probably was, but I hardly had any bother with other records Confused
D. 22 - and counting!
C. Mr. Cop (1976) - same as when I gave away a copy of OPEN THE DOOR a couple of years ago Wink

Paul - unless you tell me you're no longer in Belvedere etc., I'll post this tomorrow.

Thanks for playing, you guys!
