I've asked about restoring the release information to the website and await an answer...

Good stuff I planned to email them about it mainly due to the fact it was nice to know what was coming Smile

Just checked out the new site for the first time today and, like others, immediately noticed the missing new release calendar, which is the main webiste feature I'm interested in. Also, in the shop when you click on "More Info" for a release, all you get is a larger picture of the album cover, the release date and the price. You have to click on "Buy Now" to get a tracklisting or written description of the album - this irritating "feature" hampers your ability to check out releases quickly, and indeed it wasn't clear to me for a while that the website even included tracklistings in the first place. The organization of the shop also leaves much to be desired, but the old website was like that too - even though I don't buy anything direct from Trojan, it would be nice to be able to browse their releases in a non-headache-inducing manner.

But I'm not keeping my fingers crossed, because if whoever is in charge of designing the site somehow neglected to include the features that (I at least think) should constitute the core of a record label's website on the first go, it really doesn't speak well for them.

I like the new look of the web site but that aside I think it is utter crap.

There may be commercial reasons for not wanting to reveal forthcoming releases, although I'm more inclined to think that in these uncertain times the company is no longer prepared to commit to an uncertain future.

However, I can't see any reason for not keeping the current releases up to date. Navigation around the site is not as easy as it was and the shop is as useless now as it has always been.

Given the Sanctuary Groups precarious financial position I'd have thought they'd have been keen to get this right. It costs no more to do the job (if it really neede doing in the first place) properly than it does to make half-assed mess of it.

The lack of relevent information along with the unhelpful nature of the site must be costing Trojan sales that they can hardly afford to lose.

I would be very interested to know what the hit rate is for this site following the redesign. My gues is that it's dropped way off, which would be a shame, as all the indications are that Trojan are not going to be responding to any of the feedback re forthcoming releases. Which is especially irritating as I was just looking at the web site of ACE records which looks just about perfect to me.

Navigation is very intuitive, the back catalogue and recent releases are very easy to track and each is linked to Amazon (a much more efficient and cheaper organisation than the present 'shop' the Trojan site links to).

All the other stuff (interviews, news items 7C.) is where it should be - in the background for those who want to dig a bit deeper into the site. With Trojan, it seems to me, all the spurious stuff like who's playing where in Lahn-dan, and the 'Look Who's Still Alive And Shuffled Into Our Office In, A No Doubt Failed, Attempt To Get Some Royalties' photo gallery is all up front while it becomes increasingly harder to get information on new releases, never mind buying them.

Surely if you're going to redesign the site it would be easy to dress up the Ace site in a reggae-fied style ie. lots of red gold and green (yawn) and use words like 'respect' and 'one love' for no apparent reason?

And the search facility is STILL not working the way one would hope/expect.

Putting a simple thing in like "Tennors" should have revealed the "Reggae Girl" album at least...but nothing Mad

Surely it's not unreasonable to expect the clock to show the correct time either is it?

Amateurs, I'm afraid.

I know longer go/visit the main site due to the fact the nothing has been done with it since the re launch, I was a bit excited in the begining thinking that we would get something new but nothing has happened. They should go back to the old site {if it ain't broke don't fix it}
