Very true.....and, for me, all three lasses have distinctive vocal delivery....the fact that they were able to blend their voices together, to compliment one another so well...really flabbergasts me. Nora, and Cecile have voices, I wouldn't think, should pair well with voices that weren't similar to theirs....but they do, it works, and I like every Ebony Sisters tune I've come across.... Smile
I'm not a fan of Nora Dean's whiney voice, but within the Ebony Sisters it worked very well.

So if Nora Dean's voice was "whiney" and Paulette Williams was "nasally" (as someone mentioned higher up this thread), what word describes Cecile's voice?

If anyone's embarrassed to say, just WHISPER TO ME Mr. Green

Marcia did cover it. It's not a misprint! It was redone in the UK by Junior Lincoln. He used the Soul Defenders riddim, and had strings added. And later on, there was a version on Heartbeat's "Truly" CD, which used the same riddim as the one that was used by Cecile Campbell! Laughing

Marcia Griffiths version from '70.

That doesn't sound quite like my Bamboo single's mix (which did sound like Marcia to me).

Shame I can't play vinyl at the moment, I can't check.

No worries....I don't think the thread will disappear....we can always come back to it, later. Wink

We've had threads older than that, resurrected! I say do it, to it! And don't worry, be happy! Wink

That's two of us who've not heard it before...it deserves a nice re-press.

I notice it's a Duke Reid production, so a "nice" Treasure Isle or Dutchess (sic) re-press would do me.

The B side, Lloyd & Glen's OH LITTLE GIRL I know from Heartbeat's "Ska After Ska After Ska" set (at least "Take 2" of the song does).

It's also a good 'un:
