Good point - I've often wondered but I never thought of Pat. I'll listen anew.

This is a big fave of mine and one I successfully voted in for inclusion on a Trojan Box Set.

Sounds like Pat Rhoden, to me.

A great tune. The music, the lyrics, the delivery.....As poppy as Reggae ever need get. Smile

Here's a Pat Rhoden for comparison's sake:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mvd0Z60Hto

Listen to both, back to back, and hear what I mean. Smile

Viva Pat Rhoden! Cool

Yep - that's Pat alright Smile

Incidentally, there's another I've just uncovered: Joan Long on DT 472B ('Reconsider Our Love') is actually TT Ross, aka Joan Ross.

I don't think we've ever resolved this one - Laurel Hardy - '(Hallelujah) Glorious Morning':

A 'Rhoden & Groovy' production, but I'm pretty sure it's not Pat or Winston. Bobby Davis?

Bought it 'pon release - a pleasant ditty, but I don't think I've played it too often.

By the label, it looks like there's a "Rhoden" connection...

I'll have to listen tonight. Like Joe, I have it but it's not seen a rinsing for many a year.

My database has this as being by Pat Rhoden and produced by him and Winston Tucker/Groovy...not info I would have guessed at, so where did it come from?

I like that Bobby Davis assertion, but I'm not 100% convinced.....Though there is enough similarity, to really get my attention. Smile

Here's a tune, for comparison's sake, off the "Reggae Brothers" box set.

Bobby Davis

I'm not convinced it's Pat either Confused And are the vocalists the same on both sides? It also struck me that the production credit is only on the b side, where I'm thinking that the voice is more familiar.

I'm stumped Mad

Carl Levy (as suggested by Andy on F/B) is a possibility. Coincidentally, I was only listening to 'Check Out Yourself' last week, so perhaps something is resonating with me (or 'p'raps it's a false dawn!).

I'll need to go listen to some Jackie P.
