Hi I'm Daniel responding to advice to say hello for fear of being mistaken for a salesman.
I am a Reggae lover since 1995/96 after bumping into Horace Andy In The Light/Dub CD in a bargain basement bin in Our Price(I think).
After that I started to combine family visits to London with visits to Camden(shops and fayres),Shepards Bush, Brixton, Ladbrook Grove, Soho(Mr CD was a shop then), anywhere in that general area that had a record shop.I always received good advice (and a friendly face).
Had to sell my collection in 2000 for one reason or another.
Started to make small specific overview collections(a bit of Rockstaedy, a bit of Dub ,some Roots, and some wacky instrumentals), those were all stolen over the years.
Gave up collecting and just listened instead.
Recently was able to start to make a small collection that would fill gaps and to find albums that do that, and to find the best sounding version of the tunes -ie Heartbeat Records Niney The Observer productions are Stella.
Favourite albums from those early days was Augustus Pablo-East of The River Nile, Joe Higgs-Life Of Contradiction (really glad Pressure Sounds remastered it, finally you can hear the drums properly), and Derrick Harriott-Roots (on Pressure Sounds).
At the moment really enjoying finding tunes I haven't heard before.
Some are Pat Kelly-Try To Remember (with King Tubby Dub), and Ijahman Levi-Chariot Of Love, Love Joys-Both Wackies LP's, and U-Roy's Jump For Joy.
So far have found this forum frienly and useful and can hopefully pay it forward.
All the best. |

Welcome, Daniel... They're a good bunch here and a font of knowledge, wisdom and up to date news. And feel free to sell what you like. Within reason. _________________ Good Afternoon. Here's the news. |

Cheers for the welcome, links, and permission, much appreciated.
Sheperds (spelt it right this time) Bush was the market and the directly opposite shop. Both unexpectedly gave me records for free due purely to my genuine enthusiasm.
Chariot Of Love - Ijahman Levi I heard as a bonus track on a release of Haile I Hymn through SEEWHYAUDIO/Cornfead Productions, which is a labour of love team of people who unofficially officially release lost Reggae LP's(often with bonus 7" and 12" versions) on CD-R, including their preferred mastering of LP's readily available.I initially found them through Discogs:

Found them (him) friendly too. |
