Coincidentally this CD was featured this week on Lauren Laverne's 6music show. One track was played each day.

Yes, Soul Jazz rarely release a clunker-free Studio 1 set.

I quite like this one, but overall, Studio 1 weren't the best (IMHO) when it came to knocking out Dancehall.

Pleased to have BUSHMASTER on the convenience of a CD, as I only had it on a 12" as the B side to Lone Ranger's LOVE BUMP (which I love to bits...)

Morning everyone, a little later in the morning than usual but I have a heavy cold and did't feel up to anything early on. One cooked breakfast later and I'm feeling better so let's crack n. This week's addition to the Pressure Sounds catalogue is a CD that got lost in the post, twice! When it eventually arrived I wasn't expecting much from it not having heard of the band before (I didn't know about the Viceroys name change), but almost from the first track this was sounding like an excellent title. I am one of those who mostly listened to single artists and never really concentrated on groups when I was younger. Over the last few years whilst I've been collecting these reggae series like the Trojan Box Sets, Blood & Fire as well as these Pressure Sounds releases, I have found a new love in harmony groups, so much so that I have actually sought out individual titles to buy outside of the collections mentioned. Certainly a welcome addition to my library and one that will regularly feature in my playlists.

Ta, for that, briggie! A set I don't have yet, but have heard lots of good things about, over the years, so I'll plump for it, at some point. Cool

Is this CD out of print already? It is not for sale on the Pressure Sounds site and Amazon has it as "Temporarily out of stock", with only crazy marketplace prices. (Maybe all the remaining copies have been lost in the post...)

A good question. Hopefully, someone, will ask Squire Pete, if that's the case.

I thought I read something, a few months(maybe last year), that PS, hadn't pressed many of these, as it was unclear if CD's, would continue to be a major player, or not.

...and there hasn't been much "noise" from PS lately, but there is this:

...the website is still horrible to use.

I hate the new site, I used to pop in there quite regularly before but now I seldom go there because I get so frustrated...

Yes, I know it's listed, but there's just the LP, and I'm a CD guy (mostly, at least for "new" stuff).

I was actually thinking of sending him a message, as I was going to make an order anyway (I am not up to date with the later releases). He sometimes can find things stashed away, even though they're not on the site.

While "investigating" the site last night, I made an order for a few singles.

Unfortunately, Pete emailed me that 2 of the ones I'd chosen couldn't be found, so I had to settle for a couple of replacements...

...I'm fairly sure the order will arrive tomorrow or Friday at latest...

Morning all, I was up very early this morning, still feeling dreadful with this cold/flu. Me and the Missus are suffering with it, hope it goes away soon. This week we have from Pressure Sounds another Bunny 'Striker' Lee album, and from the start of the first track you already know that another great album is on the way. A good mixture of dubplates, vocal and dub cuts make this an enjoyable album to listen to, which is playing right now at a nice low level so I don't wake the teenagers still in bed.

Bunny 'Striker' Lee - Next Cut

Down In A Babylon aka Live Up Jah Man - Johnny Clarke
Blood of Babylon - Barrington Spence
Blood of Babylon Dub - The Aggrovators
Enforcement - Vin Gordon and the Aggrovators
Death Trap (Steppers cut) - Tommy McCook
Big Big Girl - Linval Thompson
Ethiopian Girl - Linval Thompson
Blood Dunza - Johnny Clarke and DJ
Tapetone Special - Barry Biggs and Tommy McCook
A Friend Indeed Dub - The Aggrovators
Crucial Dub - Prince Jammy
Split Second - Vin Gordon and the Aggrovators
Satta Dread - Wayne Jarrett
Satta Dread Dub - Scientist
The Gorgon (Steppers Cut) - Cornell Campbell
Supernatural Love - Linval Thompson
It's A Disgrace - Johnny Clarke
It's A Disgrace Dub - The Aggrovators
