Me and Wife went to see him last night - he only played 5 UK gigs and Southend was one of them (and the last) Shocked

Truly memorable experience
Very Happy

Nice to know, he's still performing. The chap is responsible for some truly great songs, which have been done justice, by most of the Reggae artists, I've heard, taking a crack at them..... Cool Cool Cool

Off the top of your gulliver, did he sing mostly his hits, or mix it up with lesser known material? Smile

There's quite a long medley as standard, and the show follows a fairly set pattern which was set at a 2008 Sydney gig (we got the live CD last night. Smile . But they threw in 'Mexican Divorce' and a couple of more recent things. Burt doesn't sing too good now but he lets rip on a few things. All in all, it hangs together nicely.

Nice! I'll let my ma know, she should go see him, then.....It'll be her 40th wedding anniversary, in November, and she love's Burt to death. A great pressie, methinks! Smile

BTW, I think I see you, and the missus.....You're that dot, over there, right? Mr. Green

I got this message on that link:

This video has been removed for violating YouTube's policy on spam, deceptive practices and scams.

It would help if you told us what you were posting, then we could choose to listen if we wanted or if we got a message like the above, we could find another link to the song Wink

Apart some of the cracking, early Dionne Warwick tunes, probably my favourite Bacharach-David tune is this:

I have but a re-issue:

Yes, the CD came with a very stark 'Copyright violation, FBI involvement' etc etc message so I'm not surprised. In fact, I'd never checked YT for performances as we tend to watch the Glasto repeat.

Well, that would have been a treat to see but there was clear signage at the entrances: NO PHOTOGRAPHS. And it looked to me as though people were heeding that.

I found the link, while looking up Bacharach tickets, for me ma.... It was a streaming broadcast of the event. Had no idea about it being a no no on YT, or anything. Just thought it'd be neat for you, and others, to possible see you at the gig. Wink

That's assiduous then, to advertise "no photographs" AND chase down any online footage...good for them, I guess.
