Dudley Sibley apparently posted on FB that Wentworth Vernal has passed. Not a prolific artist by all accounts but I liked what he did with the Termites. RIP |

It's a shame he wasn't more prolific. He had a lovely voice, I thought. The Termites were one of the earliest Rocksteady groups, I actively sought out, upon hearing a few of their S1 45's. I still can't understand why I flogged my copy of the Heartbeat CD, of theirs.....I've regretted that, ever since....
I hope he rests well..... _________________ It seems that our brave new world is becoming less tolerant, spiritual and educated than it ever was when I was young.

I flogged a whole slew of other Reggae related stuff, at that time, too.....I still can't figure out why....It just seemed the right thing to do, for some reason.... _________________ It seems that our brave new world is becoming less tolerant, spiritual and educated than it ever was when I was young.

Glad to know that...everyone deserves a great birthday (and Christmas).
I've thought this ever since back in the mid 70s, I asked a (then) middle-aged colleague if he'd had a great birthday and had enjoyed his few days off:
"No", he said. "It was terrible, my wife left me!".
Not knowing how to sympathise, I beat a hasty retreat! _________________ Play it nice and cool, son. Nice and cool! You know what I mean.

I had made a wonderful, "welcome home", nosh, too. The silly bitch. _________________ It seems that our brave new world is becoming less tolerant, spiritual and educated than it ever was when I was young.
