Hi there readers - myself my mate Papa Clive will be guests on Ian's House of Reggae show this Friday 19 May UK time 20.00 - c.22.30 (that would be Sat am 07:00 - 09:30 NZ time jj).

Here:

www.reggaeworldmusic.com

Just hit the site and the music should start playing - there is also a iPhone button for you modern types.

We go roughly chronologically, usually, and the aim is to mix old favourites, new discoveries and whatever sounds good. Lots of banter fuelled by great beer and ting but DJ Ian keeps a tight rein on me especially when I get a bit effusive.

Not the best reggae show in the world, but lots of enthusiasm.

Mixture of vinyl and CD.

We played these last time:

Yeah it is US East Coast time late afternoon, hopefully you can annoy your colleagues in the office/lab or just on your phone.

I am v impatient for this evening to arrive!

Also remember that we are usually in what you might call a v 'affable' mood, not as professional as some shows, but the banter can be quite funny.

Enjoy!

I can burn CDs of the shows and send them to you if you are really interested, the tracks are not marked though so one long track per 1 hour CD. They are .wav files so the quality is good.

Tonight I will be playing from the following CDs, but not in this order:

Gussie Presents I-Roy (Trojan)
Essential Dancehall Reggae (Music Club)
Trojan Presents DJs (Trojan)
Dancehall vol 1 (Soul Jazz)
Clancy Eccles Freedom Anthology (Trojan)
King Jammys Dancehall Part 1 (Dub Store)
Buju Banton The Early Years vol 2 (VP)
Prince Far I Cry Tuff Encounter Chapter 3 (Pressure Sounds)
Lee Perry & Friends Give Me Power (Trojan)
Conscious Ragga vol 3 (Greensleeves)
Pat Kelly Jamaican Soul (Kingston Sounds)
Barrington Levy Love Your Brother man (Trojan)
Trojan DJ Box Set (Trojan)
Culture Too Long In Slavery (Virgin)
Gussie Clarke From The Foundation Anthology (VP / 17 North Parade)
Beyond The Front Line (Virgin)

Enjoy!

Oh yeah and...

Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Club Dub Band (Easy Star)

It may not happen (the Other Two sometimes veto my off the wall selections!) but on June 1 2017 it will be 50 years since Sgt Peppers was released and we are bracing ourselves for the deluge of re-issues (5 CDs on Apple for example) and remixes and BBC programming.

I quite like this trio:

Matisyahu - Within You Without You
Sugar Minott - When I'm 64
Lovely Rita - Bunny Rugs & U Roy

Cheesy but fun! Sounds real good on the stereo.

Ta, benji! Friday's my day off, so that's when I do my best, to try and make time, for the various shows, I like to listen to. Most of my collection is still in boxes, from my move, 2 years ago, so I turn to these shows, to remind me, or enlighten me.

Right now, DanTwoSevens show, is pumping out some 80's Reggae, that's been pretty good, by and large.....

Looking at your latest list, I am reminded I am sorely in need of delving deeper into the Virgin stuff, so I am looking forward to that.....Lots of the sets I own, but they are in those boxes, I mentioned earlier..... Rolling Eyes

As for your offer, I'll have to get back to you, on that.....Honestly, if you rinse something I decide I want, I'll go out, and buy it.....Vinyl and/or CD. In a nutshell, you set 'em up, I'll knock 'em down. Very Happy
