I'm doing an occasional mix on the decks really just to get comfortable with Audacity.

Here's a Soul (mainly 60s and mainly instrumental) mix I did earlier this evening.

It sounds OK to me, except there are occasional "skips" in the playback, which definitely don't happen when I'm playing the records, so I have to assume it's my painfully slow and generally crappy laptop not being up to the job.

Enjoy.

1. Ray Barretto ~ EL WATUSI (Mojo)
2. Booker T. & the M.G.s ~ HEADS OR TAILS (Stax)
3. Earl Van Dyke ~ ALL FOR YOU (Tamla Motown)
4. Kool & the Gang ~ WHO'S GONNA TAKE THE WEIGHT Pt. 2 (De-Lite)
5. Barkays ~ KNUCKLEHEAD (Atlantic)
6. Soulful Strings ~ ZAMBEZI (Cadet)
7. Les McCann ~ BUCKET O' GREASE (Limelight)
8. Bohannon ~ THE PIMP WALK (Dakar - white promo)

I forgot to add that I pressed the "stop recording" button about 15 seconds too early on the last track.

Audacity can be a pain. Stick with it Joe.

Thanks - I guess things will get better (e.g. with Audacity output NOT skipping) when I replace the laptop - I reckon on getting one with just a 256gb SSD to speed thins up - 16gb or 32gb RAM and a decent processor - haven't finalised that yet, but an i5 should be more than adequate.

Looks good. I'll tune in, at the end of the work week. Wink
