The World Of Reggae Vol.2:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3qfMx0uDGGyMAUNA8rjl9Y1yFij4CCMh

The full album from 1970. Some very pleasant tracks, top riddims, and Richard Ace at the organ.

Thanks Andy - some of those tunes are indeed very pleasant, seems most rhythms were laid at Studio 1, although DON'T YOU THINK OF ME is very Beverleys

BORN AND BRED IN JAMAICA being a favourite - no clunkers although some a re bit easy-going...

I have this one and it's a pleasant set - passed it up 'nuff times thinking it was a budget affair a la Jumbo Sterling's All Stars, Laurel and the Flintmen etc etc. The Claude Sang album (volume 1) also has its moments.

I might put that one up too - my copy is in great shape. They would make a great single CD. I don't know whether LC-H wound consider that.

+1.

Jumbo Sterling has some tidy releases, under his belt. A few I didn't care for, but most of it, I have. I'd love to see the Sioux/President back catalogue, re-issued. Some good music, is on them.

The Roosevelt Singers "Heavy Reggae", blows the Piglets "Johnny Reggae", out of the water.....Not that, it wouldn't be hard to surpass that tune. I can't believe Sheikh is such a fan, of the Piglets! His favourite singing group, of all time, I'm told! Surprised

The better choice, but, you know how he gets the vapors, every time, he hears that girlies voice, on the Piglets' version......We've all crosses, to bear, I s'pose. Rolling Eyes

I confess to buying the follow up to JOHNNY REGGAE - THIS IS REGGAE.

I also confess to still having it.

I doubt it will find its way onto the decks at any RSG! session.

This absolute classic was the official follow up to 'Johnny Reggae':

'This Is Reggae' was the follow up to this.

I think 'Baby Love' is one of the worst records ever cut to vinyl. I love 'Johnny Reggae', and I can tolerate 'This Is Reggae'.
