IINM, Gerald Moore, isn't it? He's responsible, for some tidy UK Reggae releases, IINM. Wink

I know it's a possibility, but I've always ruled out G.T. Moore. Was he recording in Jamaica in 1972? What instruments did he play?

I reckon it's more likely to be a bogus credit.

Well, it was produced by the Rohoism, so I'd imagine, it's them, in disguise.....As, I don't think GT Moore, recorded in JA, around that time.... Wink

It's not the first time this topic/question has been raised - and I don't think we got to the bottom of it last time!

At the moment, conjecture is about the best that can be done, but very doubtful if it's G.T. Moore - and anyway, the lead instrument isn't quite a guitar!

What is it? A bamboo sax?

I'm not sure (except that it wasn't a guitar), which is why I didn't suggest any instrument!

Although maybe "rough and reedy" enough for a bamboo sax, it could be one that was well made.

I still prefer the A side.

Sounds like a bamboo sax. Unless, they're really skilled with the kazoo! Wink

I've been doing, some digging. I'm now wondering, if Calvin "Bubbles" Cameron, would be able, to shed some light on this? Uhuru, was his label, after all. Confused

I've sent him a friend request. Some sources show his as the actual artist on 'Bings', but I'm not sure.

Does the title refer to Mr. Crosby having come to town?

I hope he accepts. I'd love to know more, about the Uhuru label, and its stable. Smile

As for the tune, being about Mr. Crosby, coming to town, I'm not certain. I know that Bing was popular, on the island, though, does this warrant a "tribute" tune, to him?

Otherwise, the only Mr.Bings, I'm aware of, was a bar, in San Francisco! Which, was Chinese themed, at that! Maybe they opened a branch, in JA! Mr. Green

Looks probable:

If Jamaica's Round Hill didn't exist, Ralph Lauren would have conceived it. Built in 1953 by Jamaica-born entrepreneur John Pringle, itís been a favorite of celebrities for years. JFK and Jackie honeymooned in Villa 10. Oscar Hammerstein was the first owner of Villa 12. Alfred Hitchcock, Bing Crosby, and Adele Astaire were regulars.
