Harder to find non-Reggae track from Bob, sounding a little to these ears like Alton Ellis:

Not one of my favourites, but a little way different.

...sounds like it was inspired by the Chi-Lites' FOR GOD'S SAKE GIVE MORE POWER TO THE PEOPLE

Backing harmonies reminded me a bit of the Pioneers.

I find this absolutely brilliant. Bob Andy should be a household name. Same with the Pioneers. Bob has to be one of the most diverse talents, to hail from JA. UK recorded, this is on par, with any Funk coming out of the States, at the time. IMO. A shame it's hard to come by, as it would go over well at Soul/Funk do's in RVA. Wink

Great post Andy. And, glad you posted it, on YT. Now, to figure out, which band, was responsible, for the music. Cimarons, Greyhound, or someone else? Smile

It bombed (I suppose at least in part due to lack of promotion and distribution).

Probably sold about 15 copies!

That's a shame. Both flips, are dynamite! Sad

First time I heard "One Woman", was on the "Trojan Lovers Box Set". Then, I heard Lloyd's version, soon after.....Just a great song, all around. Smile

Sadly Mr. Gichie isn't sure. It may be The Cimarons, it may not be!

There's the Charmers connection, and the backing sounds similar on his, and Bob's versions. Could it be, the same backing band, Lloyd used, was the one, Bob used? Smile

Unfortunately, you can't ask Lloyd Charmers!

Hard to believe, too....1938, wasn't all that long ago. Sad
