I've got an original Reggae Power, but not to hand at the moment. A quick look at discogs has an extra track not listed on this CD "Free". I can't remember if it was one of the intrumentals or just not included on the actual original vinyl.

Just wondering why it's not the re-issue.

Due to contractual reasons, a couple of Coxsone Dodd tracks are not included. This CD contains all of the tracks recorded for Karl Johnson that were originally included on the 'Reggae Power' and 'Woman Capture Man' LPs, together with seven bonus tracks from the same time period.

One for the wants list, surely. The only track, I don't have, is "RFK". Thanks, for letting us know, about this, Andy! Smile

The dreaded Squire Lambourn, isn't doing the liners, for these? Is he? I'm hopefully, getting those sets, that were released, over the summer, -which he did the dire liners, with some help, from another awful Reggae authority- for Christmas.... Wink

Indeed - the liner notes are by a couple of well known reprobates!

It was quite scary, as Laurence had to run them past Leonard's widow first!

Wow. Surprised

And, I take it, she was well pleased? What an honour, if that's the case! Very Happy

I don't know the outcome. She may have completely re-written them! Rolling Eyes

I don't how to take that, at the moment. I will say this, though: As long as the facts, are presented, as best as they can be, then I think things will be okay.

That said, I know you are very diligent, when it comes to presenting facts. I can only hope, she either loves what you did, or can add some more facts, to the stew! Wink

It will all become clear very soon.

I have to wonder about the marketing department of Cherry Red. Multiple of these releases boast "tracks new to CD" and... for the most part I've found that to be untrue. I don't see any tracks on the Ethiopians or Uniques collections that I don't own on CD. For the Kingstonians it boasts "Many tracks new to CD", when I can only see two tracks that I don't already have on CD.

I think the releases are worthwhile for many, and many of the CDs I have are long out of print. I just don't see why they are boasting something untrue.
