Discussed on an earlier post (Punky Reggae Party) about a 12" mix that would be great to hear. It made me think about how many of you found the 12" to be superior.

A track I thought benefited from 12" mix was Ting A Ling by The Tamlins

I bet we've all got a favourite whats yours?

Probably Culture - Trod On

closely followed by Brent Dowe - Tonight.

I must add to that, that I've never been a big fan of the 12".

Like Andy, I don't go the biggest bundle on Reggae 12s either - that's mainly because of those that were simply a vocal and then a aversion "stitched together" - or sometimes a dub.

Favourite Reggae 12"?

Probably Lee Francis's (I think he is/was Winston Francis's son, but am not sure) A LONELY I AND I from 1979, released on the Lee & Roy label.

Here's a long version - don't know if it was the 12" mix though:

I had a ton of 12" singles back in the days of vinyl, I loved 'em. The first one that sprung to mind when reading this topic was Dennis Brown - Money In My Pocket, always loved that 12" with Prince Mohammed.

Love the Gladiators and Wailing Souls ones, another Gladiators fave was Pocket Money on Front Line.

Another good one is Really together by Jackie Parish & Big Youth

The first one I ever bought: Talk About Love/First The Girl by Pat Kelly and Dillinger on Chanan-Jah. Bought that from Joe's for about 1.50. Don't have it now, or any 12 inchers at all in fact.
