|
|
I've got one CD (so far, haven't opened all presents yet).
Donald Byrd & 125th. Street NYC "Love Has Come Around: The Elektra Records Anthology 1978-1982"
Some I have only on vinyl and several not at all...
I wonder what else is coming my way? _________________ Play it nice and cool, son. Nice and cool! You know what I mean.

Philly dance/funksters the People's Choice "Any Way You Wanna: Anthology 1971 -1981":
B.T. Express "Give Up The Funk 1974-1982":
I was intrigued by "Lotus Disco":

Two albums - Wolf of the Cosmos by Bonnie Prince Billy and Solid Air by John Martyn - the half speed remaster version
And lots and lots of shaving type stuff!

I have the "Solid Air" LP (from not much after its release), although I don't recall any tune from it.
What does "the half speed remaster version" do for it, sound-wise?
I told my wife that I didn't need any more shaving type stuff, nevertheless I still got a Nivea set (which she apologised for). _________________ Play it nice and cool, son. Nice and cool! You know what I mean.

Haven't played the John Martyn yet, but there's this from the Abbey Road website re half speed remastering (if I can make the URL thing work...)

|
|
I finally was lucky enough to get from Santa a nice 2nd hand copy of Children of Jah - The Chantells & Friends 1977 - 1979 (BAFCD 028).
Been after that for ages. £15 according to the accidentally left invoice. Santa getting senile, innit?
Top tracks?:
Jah Jah New Garden - Lopez Walker
Cool Rastaman Cool - Steve Boswell & Jah 'Ras' Berry
Natty Supper - The Chantells
This CD goes real well with the We Are Getting Bad CD on Motion, as anyone who has both would tell you. I got that not so long ago and can thoroughly recommend them together. Great sound.
Happy Holidays. _________________ Long Ago Is So Long Ago |
