The March result was as follows:

1st. Dennis Brown - Money In My Pocket 45% [ 14 ]
2nd. Dennis Alcapone - Guns Don't Argue 25% [ 8 ]
3rd. Desmond Dekker - You Can Get It If You Really Want 19% [ 6 ]
4th. Peter Tosh & Friends - Black Dignity 9% [ 3 ]

Total Votes : 31

Perhaps that wasn't such a surprise...Smile

Here's the April poll - I was going to split this into two separate polls, as originally there were some 11 or 12 releases planned, but in the end there were only 5 (Count Ossie's "Soul Dreams" and the "Soca Box Set" being 2 of the ones that disappeared Sad )

I think I know what my choice will be, but won't vote yet Wink

I voted for the 80's Box Set basically cos not only did you get covers of 80's pop hits but the added bonus of classic 80's reggae hits by the likes of Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Israel Vibration & Supercat.

I remember a Supercat track being in some film around this time but can't remember which!

I can't make my mind up yet Confused

...I still haven't played the 80s Box Set yet - I can't get past the Dancehall Roots or Cornell albums Smile

...plus there's the Maytals...Smile

...and the 4 BMW albums...Smile

For me, the Dancehall Roots Box Set has just shaded it over the Cornell Campbell album.

The Maytals set was also excellent, but I'm not especially enjoying the 80s Box Set (yet).

...and the BMW albums are very nicely packaged (about the size of a Box Set, but are albums "in toto"...plus I was never a big fan of his albums, though I thoroughly enjoy this track or that track Wink

Embarrassed - I'd better cast me vote Confused

...did it cross the line? ...about as much as Geoff Hurst's did ...probably Shocked

I'll knock this poll on the head tomorrow (Sunday) evening or thereabouts Wink

...any last-minute votes welcomed - "Dancehall Roots" just shading out the "Eighties" as I write Smile

Right - thanks for your votes everyone - the Dancehall Roots Box Set pipped the Eighties Box Set by a couple of votes.

I'll put the May poll up at the end of the week Wink

Zap Smile
