|
|
Hello,
I 'm wondering what Sonny Binns from the Rudies, Greyhound... is still active. If you have any recent news or even a contact.
Also I'm a fan of the instrumental Hammond-driven tracks, and I'm looking for as much information as possible on these great unsung heroes like Winston Wright, Glen Adams, Gladstone Anderson, Lloyd Charmers, Robert Lynn, Neville Hinds, Leslie Butler, Harold Butler, Tyrone Downie, Earl Lindo, Bernard Touter Harvey, Ossie Hibbert or even Ansel Collins
If you've got directions, ideas...
Thanks |

Ouch! Damien - so much information needed
There's plenty of general information in this forum, though specifically about those wonderful players that you have listed, not so much, unless you ask directly.
I'm not sure there are actual publications specialising in these artists, though there's general information in a variety of books like the Rough Guide, Bass Culture, Solid Foundation etc. - though the Guinness Who's Who In Reggae is (apparently) riddled with mis-information and errors.
Please join in the forum - you never know what you may discover _________________ Play it nice and cool, son. Nice and cool! You know what I mean.

Thanks for this, The books you're mentioning are bibles, and I've found many info already in it.
And about Sonny Binns ? Do you know what he is doing now, or if there is any ways to contact him ?
Thanks for this wonderful forum, full of info, and yes I'll get logged pretty soon
Best

Check out the fantastic FUNKY 16 CORNERS site for info on Winston Wright.
Click on

and scroll down.
I always feel Winston "Brubeck" Wright never gets the recognition he deserves. He was the Treasure Isle Hammond man as well as playing in The Dynamites, Crystalites and the All Stars. I adore the work of Jackie Mittoo, but feel Winston's work is equally good.
