No luck again I'm afraid, RF - I'll try and give a clue after the next couple of guesses...unless anyon nails it Smile

Choose your third and final guess wisely Wink

That's a logically progressive shot, stu - though I can't parade you around the winner's enclosure this time Smile

I'll give a clue if the next guess isn't right Wink

Neither are right I'm afraid - though one of those flirted with the completely right solution Wink

Look into my devious mind and figure out how I might have arranged the answers - it's something to do with Trojan and the "unofficial media" Evil or Very Mad

Though winnie may not try again until someone else has Wink - usual rules.

1) D
2) B
3) C

I actually figured it out by deduction, then saw the obvious DBC!

BTW the liner notes are wrong, there are 9 UK pop #1's on the set (that's what threw me off earlier!)

Yes, indeed he is, Alcibiades Cool maximising the third guess!!!

Well done Jon - I assume you haven't changed address???

There are 7 U.K. No. 1s covered in this set:
1. Don't Be Cruel (Chaka Demus & Pliers)
2. All Shook Up (Jackie Edwards)
3. One Night (Jackie Brown)
4. It's Now Or Never (Cornel Campbell)
5. Are You Lonesome Tonight? (Pat Kelly)
6. Wooden Heart (Hortense Ellis)
7. The Wonder Of You (Lloyd Parks)

Up to the end of 2004, Elvis had visited the U.K. pop charts for a total of 1,198 weeks.

My favourite Elvis song is "Marie's The Name, His Latest Flame" - I thought (hoped Confused) that sticking "Wooden Heart" in there might have misled those who sort of know me Wink - I like all the rest in that list too, though by and large, I can take or leave his music Cool

I deliberately arranged the answers to be D, B and C for the link to the Trojan "Dread Broadcasting Corp." CD (TJDDD167) and the pirate radio station (which I knew about way back then, but couldn't receive) - just so's I could give a daft clue...

Thanks for all who had a go - much appreciated Smile Smile

The address is the same!

And FYI the 8th #1 on the set is:

Can't Help Falling In Love - UK #1 24-2-62 to 17-3-62

This BBC article has "Suspicous Minds" listed as a UK #1 in 1969, but it really only got up to #2. That's where I got the phantom ninth #1.

OK - I'll get it in the post...probably on the week-end.

"Can't Help Falling In Love" may have been a UK number 1 - though my question related to how many were noted in the sleeve notes Wink

I know that different charts were published back in the day and in one edition some years back, the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles explained which charts they used (this is where I got the 1,1,98 singles chart weeks from) for their statistics.

Don't know why I always like "His Latest Flame..." - but I do!
