Looks like this is dead...but I will revive it anyway. While at Mom's house this last week, she was listening to her standard satellite radio show. Mostly 50's and 60's, mostly stuff we have all heard a MILLION times before. Anyway, I don't know about you, but if I hear the Elegants doing "Little Star" again, I'm gonna puke. Mom LOVES Doo-Wop, but sadly has not seemed to connect it to black people yet, which is another topic.
Anyway, this song comes in and stops me dead in my tracks. Only one other Doo Wop artist has ever done that (Frankie Lymon) so I am off to the nearest computer and searching. Long story short- this band is hard to find, but I did. Otis Williams and the Charms. Not the Otis Williams of the Temptatios- whole different cat all together with the voice of an angel (IMHO). So long story short- hard enough to find that I bought everything that I could find (a whopping 2 CD's) and can't stop playing them. Other of the day- Otis Williams and the Charms doing Hearts of Stone

Been re-living this classic - Blackfoot Sue's only sizeable UK hit and popular at my local "night", just after the Reggae "bubble" burst...

Jethro Tull's first hit LIVING IN THE PAST Cool

Loved it way back then, but never bought it.

Only got a vinyl copy on an LP in the mid 80s and a CD copy about 3 years ago on a Tull compilation.

Another tune that would sit somewhere in the top half of my personal Top 50 of all-time favourite songs (any music)

Cool Cool

First Cousins Jazz Ensemble's FLAT MEAT Cool Cool

Excellent instrumental Jazz-Funk from 1975 - I think FCJE (the brainchild of one Stu Gardner) only made one LP - which I never found - picked this up on a Capitol "Soul Special" sampler mini-LP back then...

This one - from Swedish Shadows-soundalike instrumentalists, the Spotnicks - an instrumental version of the Frank Ifield Confused vocal original...

Loved this tune as a kid and only recently got hold of a copy, courtesy of Mike Atherton (aka heanorman)...
