Thanks again for your votes - in a low-ish turn out the Tennors shaded it from Sly and Robbie...

1st. Reggae Girl (The Tennors And Friends) 52.63% 10
2nd. Strictly Drum And Bass - The Roots Of Sky And Robbie 42.11% 8
3rd. Johnny Greenwood Is The Controller 5.26% 1
4th. A tired selection - none are worth a vote - 2

Here we go with March. Once again 3 varying releases - "rude" Reggae dancehall, an excellent selection of tunes covering 3 or so years either side of 1970 and a new album, rooted in dub, but with a variety of influences.

Away you go!

What no "tired selection" and i thought Trojan Selecta 5 was a march release Question I don't think Slack Box Set will do well due to its content and my "odds on favourite" to win would be the Rebel Music as its one of those "classic era" albums, Jah Wobble is the underdog can't see that doing well though its an interesting album.

Still going throught the albums and at an early stage its Rebel Music and Jah Wobble in the lead as Slack Reggae doesn't really sit well with me and it isn't the kinda thing I'd have on repeat.

"Tired selection option" added, Paul - good spot...thanks Wink

Musically, I like most of the Slack Reggae Box Set - lyrically, less so - insofar as how much of the lyrics are intelligible at all Shocked Smile

I'm happy enough with the other two releases too Cool

Rebel Music 2 IMHO is the only worthwhile release and it's a corker.
I haven't even unwrapped my review copy of the Slack Box - and never will.

Thanks, I much prefer this month's box of xxx-rated slack tracks!
Nothing but dirty dancehall all the way including "She Can't Take It" by Derrick Morgan & Bunny Lee, "Horney, Horney" by Chaka Demus & Pliers, "Run Cum Cum" by Yellowman & Silver Cat, "Nah Run From It" by Princess & Sister Wendy, "Buffesha" by Chinnaman, "Slackness Style" by Ranking Joe, "Bump & Whine" by Yellowman, "Boney Punany" by Beenie Man, "Punani Fi Smell" by Gospel Fish, "Wood In The Ring" by Sister Wendy, "Tickle Me Fancy" by Lt Stitchie, "Bed Work" by Nardo Ranks, "The Stiff" by Dillinger, "Gal A Weh You Do Me" by Galaxy P, "Sugar Truck" by Junie Ranks, "Pum Pum Mash Up" by Tullo T and "Wuk Me Tender" by Lady P and I think the latter should've been included on that Elvis Inna Reggae Style cd of last year Exclamation
