Oh well...this week's purchases (or should I say, received-from-HMV) have all been non-Reggae:
Steve Hackett's SPECTRAL MORNINGS (re-release of his 1979 album - which I played to death back then - still sounds good)
R.E.M.'s ACCELERATE - I always buy their albums - this one hasn't "hit" me yet"
Floaters' FLOAT ON...THE BEST OF... - I never tired of hearing the much-decried FLOAT ON. This album is decent enough, without being spectacular
Best of T.K. Disco (not the Westside 2-CD, the Hot label release) - this one I love and it's filled a few gaps
...but I still managed to fit in LIFE OF CONTRADICTION and volumes 2 and 3 of the DIGGGIN' IN THE CRATES Ska selevctions Cool Cool

My distributor went to Prague for a trip and he was able to bring his new goodies, so we met and here is the outcome of our meeting:

* Bad Manners- Special Brew/ Ivor The Engine (1985- Magnet)
* The Specials- Too Much Too young/ Guns Of Navarone/ Long Shot Kick The Bucket/ Liquidator/ Skinhead Moonstomp (1980- Two Tone) - This is a brilliant one, recorded live, B side (last 3 songs) as a medley. He had this one available also on Maxi Single 12" in Japanese edition, but it was too expensive so I pick this 7"
* Derrick Harriot- Eighteen with A Bullet/ Version (1975- Trojan)
* The Bodysnatchers- Ruder Than You/ Lets do Rock Stready (1980- Two Tone)
* Desmond Dekker- It Miek/ Problems (1969- Pyramid) - Original Smile
* Bob and Marcia- Pied Piper/ Save Me (1971- Trojan) - I am not very keen on their music, no idea why I still buy their records...
* Bad Manners- NeNe NaNa NaNa NuNu/ Holidazs (1980- Magnet)
* Harry J. Allstars- Liquidator/ La La Allways Stay (1969- Harry J) - Original Smile
* The Specials- Gangsters/ The Selecter- The Selecter (1979- Chrysalis) - This is not original- some Dutch re-edition or something. Never mind, these are brilliant tunes.
* The Bees- Jesse James Rides Again/ The Girl In My Dreams (1967- Blue Beat) - I am very happy that I got this one, can I consider it as a Rarite?
* The Pioneers- Long shot Kick De Bucket/ Harry J. Allstars/ Liquidator (1969- Trojan) - Very happy about this one- two original hits on 1 EP!

And that is all...

Oh no, it is not, also I got a book about 2 Tone - Wheels Out of Gear by Dave Thomspon

I just ordered:

Junior Murvin - Police and Thieves (can't believe I never bought this album before)
Prince Buster - Wreck a Pum Pum
Sound Dimension - Mojo Rocksteady Beat (finally become somewhat cheap on Amazon)
Horace Andy - Good Vibes (1975-1979)

Recently purchased reggae:

Willie Williams - Armagideon Time (disappointing...)
Glen Brown & King Tubby - Termination Dub (excellent!)

A nice bag of swag JB..... Can't help you with the B side of Phantom. My copy is on Clandisc (CLA 213). One of (if not the first) Dub track! Cool
Dog War (aka Broadway Jungle) is one of my fave Ska tracks. Saw them do it live in '74 on the Jamaica Showcase Tour. Truly fantastic! Wink

Can't help with the PHANTOM B side, JB - sorry.

Nice set of catch-up tunes Cool Cool

My Clandisc copy of HERBSMAN (CLA207) has the excellent DON'T MIND ME by (Joe) Higgs & (Roy) Wilson on its B side - a tune not to be missed Cool

A little slow for me, JB.

But I'm on my old PC at the minute, rather than my newer laptop...which is definitely quicker.

My own uploads take a while as well...

Although I'm on 20mb Broadband, it will only ever operate at that speed "inside" Virgin Media - it's in the small print...Confused Confused Confused
