Even though I'm a newcomer to the site (only been on the net a few weeks) I've been collecting since 1970 and a lover of Jamaican music from the early 60s to the late 70s.
Hope to share some musical knowledge with you guys.

Welcome to the forum, selecter B Smile - look forward to reading your thoughts.

I've started collecting JA stuff in '69, though I'd been buying records (though just a few) from 1964.

I've still got them all.

Hi Zapatoo,
Seems you got a head start on me . Although I started collecting in 1970
I did start buying various records in the mid to late 60s.
I sometimes wish I'd still got all the records I've bought over the years.
I think I've sold off nearly as many as I've kept !!!

I've had some difficult-ish times financially, though luckily, I've never been so financially pressed, that I've had to flog any tunes!

Yet Confused

Kind regards Bosssounds.
I don't sell off as many things from the collection now. Plus I keep finding
stuff I owned years back.

Yes, Mick - the way York City have sunk to non-League obscurity, if I supported them, I'd be praying for wins week in, week out too Very Happy

Very Happy The City fans lived there originally, one goes home and away every week, dedication eh? You obviously know of Jumbo Records? Tribe, which is run by the Iration Steppa's sound system has moved from the back of the Corn Exchange,it's still round there somewhere,"up an alley" as a friend told me!!!!! pretty good vinyl choice in the old shop.probably still has. Theres also a good one in the Merrion Centre,or was a month or too back(anyone clarify?)reasonable reggae section, Zavvi's (formerly Virgin) are selling artists who signed to Virgin in the 70's like Tosh,Far-i,Culture etc cd's for between 4-7 quid, picked up a few lately from there. That help at all? Wink

By the way Selecter B,25.50 is a hell of a lot for a gig at the cockpit aint it? My mate went last time and got talking to one of the band who said how good the Leeds crowd was, hence them coming back, don't think i could part with the asking price for a club gig(no tight yorkshireman jokes please!) even for a legend like Toots, you never know 'tho Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
