Hi all, just signed up so new here.
Not new to Trojan or indeed any other Skinhead era ska or Rocksteady and was one of the founding members of T.O.T.A.S when Chris Prete revitalised it. Looking forward to joining in on many interesting posts.

The Maytals are my favourite all time band with Little Flea being their best track (IMO). Not a purist, it's the music I want, not bothered if its on 7" 12" or CD. Not too hot on MP3's yet but I'm sure I'll catch up!

Thankfully I've managed to see most of the greats during the last 37 years of concert attendance. However...
I'm looking forward to seeing the Pioneers for the 1st time on Saturday. Yay!

Regards Mike

RIP Alton. Trousers will be worn at half mast! Respect.

Hi Mike, and welcome.
This is definitely the forum for you. And there's certainly no format snobbery here! Wink It took me a while to suss out the MP3 clip business, but I got there!
I also love The Maytals, and Little Flea is a great tune (apart from that dodgy off-key trumpet squeak right at the end! Shocked Cool )
Pete.

P.S. I'm guessing you're of mine and Zap's vintage?? Very Happy

Welcome Mike, I'm sure you'll enjoy the forum.
The Maytals sure are a top band as many on here will agree. If you've been attending gigs for 37 years you must be nearly as old as me ! Shocked

thanks for the welcome.

Well just say I'm not young, infact some day's I'm positively ancient. Others I'm 21 again. that said I did start gigging at a young age but then, I was dragged up mainly by my older Brother, in Newcastle when the house was cold and the gig was hot.

Welcome to the forum, trojan warrior/Mike Smile - good to have you here.

I've never been a great concert-goer and missed out on T.O.T.A.S. for some reason.

I bought my first Reggae in '68 (Swan Lake) and started to hit it hard in Spring '69 when Israelites was riding high.

I still have all those records.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. Most of my stuff (including my T.O.T.A.S zines) was sadly 'lost' due to my moving house so many times (Due to Military service) My long suffering wife must have somehow misslade them into a bin along with a few of my other treasured Skin type items. Still a cause of friction at certain junctures...
