Would you prefer straightforward CD reissues of "classic" albums with original artwork/notes or expanded/de luxe editions?

This poll isn't with any especial re-issues in mind - just a general idea.

Putting to one side any personal preferences for vinyl, what do you think?

A straight CD re-issue would be just as it was originally presented - same tracks, same cover artwork, same sleeve notes (if there were any)

An expanded/de luxe re-issue would be the original album, coupled with bonus tracks and comprehensive sleeve notes - rather like Tighten Up volumes 1 and 2, although whether any might be 2-CD releases, I don't know.

I like the idea that you get extra related tracks with your re-issues every one of this type i have brought has been great so i am going with the second option. Very Happy
But at the moment with the lack of any issues re or otherwise i would be happy with anything so long as it sounds good Very Happy

Them thar De Luxe editions of TU, & Simaryp were most excellent! What with all the extra music, & the cracking booklet...however.....a vinyl release would be nice too!!! Cool

The prime example of how the expanded releases should go would be the Big Youth-Screaming Target set with all those bonus tracks is a great release Very Happy

I think I would prefer expanded or deluxe editions out of the options listed.

I'd like more releases like the "Reggae Girl" and "Come Back Darling" CDs where they have the original albums followed by another disc and a bit of related productions.

Respect

I first thought the straight cheaper versions but having looked at the Bob And Marcia reissue I think I'd prefer the expanded versions

That's more or less how I reasoned it as well, JLM.

I'll go for the Deluxe edition with all the nice packaging.
I hate the plastic jewel cases (too much plastic), I love getting the extra tracks and I sadly look forward to the packaging too Embarrassed .... I particularly liked the Bob Marley Deluxe jobbies.
