A good tune Pete - but on Greensleeves - isn't this label tied in with VP these days...?

Yes, VP bought Greensleeves a few years ago. Effectively meaning there is really only one label releasing new Jamaican music internationally nowadays.

I think 'Drifter' would be a no-no due to it being a Harry Mudie production.
I'd like to see a reissue of DUKE 7 on heavy vinyl;
DU 7 Paragons - Left With A Broken Heart // Paragons - Got To Get Away
with both sides as per the original Duke single. I think later issues of 'Left with a Broken Heart' (John Holt LP, Andy's 45 etc) are a different take.
This must be one of Reggae's best ever pairings...well worthy of a reissue.

I just got a copy of this from the 'Lucky Sevens' box set and it sounds great.
Really pleased to get it at last so thanks Laurence!

As Jamaica celebrates 50 years of independence in august. I would like to see Sanctuary/Universal reissue Lord Creator's - Independent Jamaica.
Derrick Morgan's - Forward March on Island records [white design] In time for the celebrations.

T'would be nice. However considering Universal are not issuing 'Easter Bonnet' until 30th April, I can't see this coming out in time! Laughing Rolling Eyes

Following that good idea, why not di it "properly" and release Island's first UK single (from tapir's), complete with "sunshine" logo and "Rutland Gate Mews" address

WI 001 Lord Creator - Independent Jamaica // Lord Creator - Remember
1962

...and this one...

WI 011 Derrick Morgan - Forward March // Derrick Morgan - Please Don't Talk About Me
Beverley Jamaica
1962

...based on a Junior Walker tune (that I can't remember), there's also a version without all the interjections:

B side is a handsome, laid-back, instrumental version of DENVER

Hey there lovers of cool riddims! I am unaware of it's current existence but would strongly recommend the re-issue of a various artists Trojan album called "Version to Version - Vol 2". I believe the ref # was #TBL 206. If this is possible, please let me know immediately!!!!!! You will forever remain my most favourite new friend. There is a killer opening track by Dennis Alcapone called 'What Did You Say'. Anyway, that's all I have to say...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.... Prince Vince

How do, Prince...

If my memory serves (a have the LP, but not to hand), this one has V to V Vol. 3 on the cover, but V to V Vol. 2 on the label Confused

Track list (from tapir's):

TBL 206 Various - Version To Version Vol. 3
Tracks: What Did You Say (Dennis Alcapone) / Magnificent 7 (I-Roy) / George Foreman (Bacca) / Brother Louie (Matumbi) / Facts Of Life (Big Youth) / Station Underground News (Lee Perry) // Sudden Flight (I-Roy) / Burning Wire (Jerry Lewis) / Meaning Of One (Prince Jazzbo) / Dedicated To Illiteracy (Shorty Perry) / 2 Wedden Skank (Glen Brown) / Bathroom Skank (Lee Perry)

Tapir's has "Version To Version" as TBL182 and volume 3 as the above, but no mention of a volume 2.

Smile
