As requested (kind of) by Uncle Brian Wink

Not necessarily in the UK.

Doesn't have to be independent.

Doesn't have to be vinyl only.

Doesn't have to be Reggae-specialising.

...just where there's a good chance of hauling/nabbing/snagging some JA tunes...

Peckings - Askew Rd. London W12.

Sounds of the Universe - Broadwick St. in Central London.

Saturn's flagship store at Hansaring 1 - Koeln/Cologne

CDs only, but always a decent selection!

Does anyone know if Rebel Music (nr. Barbarossaplatz in Cologne) is still going - I'd heard it was well worth a visit, but haven't got there yet.

WORTHING . WEST SUSSEX
Thanks Joe - any help for 'real shops' must be a good idea imo !

I'll start with this one -

the Right Track -112 South Street Tarring , Worthing , West Sussex , [nr West Worthing Station]
I would reccomend giving Michael a ring beforehand - 07854 371 236 ,

A secondhand record shop with plenty of reggae in stock [not cheap tho]- it seems they dont dabble with T'interent ting !

BRIGHTON - SUSSEX

Uptight records [aka Bloodhound Bob's]

178 Sackville rd
Hove
01273 774 832

http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/uptight-records-brighton

Notes - a [very] small shop , Bob is an electronic repair man [tv's etc], the shop is an 'add-on' , previously a store room - more than 5 people and its packed !! ,
Mainly a jazz/funk/soul dealer, but has a few reggae 45s in stock [depending on turnover] - ie Mexicano - Move up Starsky 3 recently ....
a lot of 45s for sale at 3 a pop ! -
good listening fascilities
Free parking to be had over the road in trading estate car park

Ps - our man Bob has a healthy disregard for cd's - a lot of obscure stuff can be bought for 10 for 2 . Wink

PPs - odd opening hours - ie - saturday only till 2pm !

There are a few still surviving (and long-running) shops in Leigh-on-Sea, the best and oldest being Leigh Records on the London Road. Not much Reggae, but plenty of `50s and `60s Pop to wade through.

I love Leigh and often head down there on a sunny weekend. Some good boozers down by the water, plenty of fish and chips (or Jellied Eels if one prefers) then some record hunting. Lovely Very Happy
