I don't get out much...I must admit I pick up most of my stuff online (pathetic, right? Sad ). I will say that here in Pittsburgh, PA, reggae for sale can be hard to come by. Jerry's Records is famous nationwide for the millions of records that he has stuffed in multiple locations. However what he has reggae-wise is really minimal. I've only picked up some 80s dancehall singles from him.

However I just recently found a spot in Glassport, PA. It's called Out Of The Ordinary Music & Gifts. Their website is pretty bad (so I'm not going to link) and their FB page focuses on heavy metal and punk. But the owner (who I haven't met yet...I've just heard stories) is a big reggae fan. Because of this, they actually have a pretty awesome selection of reggae LPs. Lots of classics as well as new releases and compilations. I picked up Jimmy Cliff's Sacred Fire EP, Ranking Miss P Presents: Sweet Harmony, & Horace Andy's Skylarking LP.

Feel free to read my write up on them here. For those not familiar with Pittsburgh, Glassport is a bit of a trek from the city; about 15-20 miles (depending on where you are coming from). There not much else in Glassport...so if you decide to go, be sure to shoot me a message (I live in nearby McKeesport...where at least we have restaurants and coffee shops!).

Not really (for me at least), Rishona.

It helps to keep things "ticking over" between visits to real record shops Wink

I think Heather has posted on her F/B page that Brixton's Selectors record shop is closing and selling off its stock on e-bay. Here's a link:

http://www.brixtonbuzz.com/2014/07/selectors-music-of-brixton-puts-up-over-100000-records-for-sale-on-ebay/

In the twenty-odd years it was there, I never visited the place at all so can't say whether I'm sad about it or not. I imagine I would've done had it not been in such a dodgy neighbourhood.

Sure is Marc! I'm hoping it's some music nut with a lifelong ambition of owning a record shop that's purchased it!!

Well Mick, I see they still have an on-line presence with some quite decent looking gear (although I'd be wary of their conditions) and I wonder what's actually included here - only the stuff left in the shop that they couldn't really sell? £14k isn't a lot, especially when the owner clearly owes back rent, but then again it might be a load of unsaleable techno and house twelves and a ton of Ragga.

I remember a bar/stall with at least a box or two of records in the market underneath the railway opposite South Harrow station...many years ago, mind.
